Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using KasiConnect.
By creating an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
01Acceptance of these Terms
By registering for or using KasiConnect, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
02Who can use KasiConnect
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, given that KasiConnect facilitates paid work, financial transactions, and in-person meetups between users. By registering, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.
Each person may hold only one KasiConnect account.
03What KasiConnect is
KasiConnect is a platform that lets users:
Post and browse piece jobs ("gigs")
Buy and sell items through the Marketplace
List and browse accommodation
Share posts, photos, and comments in the Kasi Feed
Message other users directly
Optionally verify their identity and build a rating from reviews
KasiConnect is a platform, not a party to any transaction, job, sale, or rental arranged between users. We don't employ job posters or workers, we don't own or inspect marketplace items, and we don't manage or guarantee accommodation listings. Agreements, payments, and arrangements made between users are strictly between those users.
04Your account
Your Kasi/Township is a required part of your profile — it's how KasiConnect keeps everything hyperlocal, and it's needed for every listing you post.
You're responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it.
Profile edits (name, bio, location, photo) are locked for a period after each change, to discourage impersonation and abuse of location-based matching.
Optional ID verification is reviewed by our admin team. A "Verified" badge means we checked a submitted ID document — it is not a guarantee of a user's trustworthiness, honesty, or intentions, and you should still exercise normal caution.
05Your content
You keep ownership of the content you post (listings, photos, posts, messages). By posting it, you give KasiConnect a licence to display, store, and distribute it within the app as needed to operate the service — for example, showing your job listing to other users, or your profile photo next to your posts.
You're responsible for what you post. You confirm that your content:
Is accurate and not misleading (no fake listings, no misrepresented items or jobs)
Doesn't infringe anyone else's rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, etc.)
Doesn't include anything illegal, including illegal goods or services
Doesn't include hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that exploits or endangers anyone, especially minors
Isn't spam or duplicate/repetitive posting
We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate these Terms, based on our own review or in response to a user report.
06Payments — Pro subscription and Boosts
Pro subscription and listing Boosts are purchased by redeeming an OTT Mobile voucher inside the app.
Pro subscriptions run for 30 days from activation. Redeeming a new voucher while still Pro extends your subscription from its current expiry — it doesn't reset or overlap.
Boosts last 24 hours from activation and increase your listing's visibility; they don't guarantee a sale, a hire, or any particular outcome.
All voucher redemptions are final. Once a voucher is redeemed for Pro or a Boost, it can't be refunded, exchanged, or reversed, except where required by law or at our discretion in cases of a genuine technical error on our part.
KasiConnect never sees or stores your voucher PIN — redemption is validated directly with OTT Mobile.
We're not responsible for vouchers purchased from third parties (retailers, resellers) that turn out to be invalid, already used, or fraudulent.
07Ads
Non-subscribing users will see advertisements served through Google AdMob. Pro subscribers don't see ads. See our Privacy Policy for details on how ad personalisation and consent work.
08Safety
KasiConnect connects you with other people in your community for real-world jobs, sales, rentals, and meetups. We do not run background checks on users, and optional ID verification does not guarantee anyone's honesty, intentions, or safety.
When meeting someone through KasiConnect:
Meet in a public place where possible, especially for a first meeting
Tell someone else where you're going, or use the in-app Safety Check-in feature
Trust your judgement — if something feels wrong, don't go through with it
Never send money or vouchers to someone you haven't met or verified through a legitimate transaction
Report any user who behaves inappropriately, and use the Block feature to stop further contact
You use KasiConnect, and any arrangement you make with another user, entirely at your own risk. KasiConnect is not liable for any loss, injury, dispute, or harm arising from an interaction, transaction, or meetup between users.
09Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
Post scams, fraudulent listings, or attempt to deceive other users for financial gain
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
Attempt to bypass, exploit, or interfere with the app's security, rate limits, or payment systems
Use KasiConnect for anything illegal under South African law
Scrape, copy, or extract data from the app for purposes outside normal personal use
Create multiple accounts to evade a block, suspension, or content removal
10Reports, blocking, and enforcement
If you report a user or piece of content, our admin team reviews it and may dismiss the report or remove the content. We reserve the right to remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate an account — with or without notice — for violating these Terms, at our reasonable discretion.
Blocking another user prevents them from messaging you and hides your listings and profile from each other. Blocking doesn't guarantee that user won't be able to see your content through other means (such as a shared listing viewed before the block).
11Disclaimers and limitation of liability
KasiConnect is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any job, sale, rental, or interaction arranged through it will go as expected.
To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, KasiConnect and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss arising from a transaction, meetup, or interaction with another user, or from content posted by another user.
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under South African consumer protection law.
12Intellectual property
The KasiConnect name, logo, and app design are protected — you may not copy, modify, or distribute them without our permission.
13Termination
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and the content you've posted.
We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms, engaging in fraudulent or harmful behaviour, or if required by law.
14Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app. Continuing to use KasiConnect after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
15Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of South Africa.
